Hundreds of years ago, many ingenious people or Indians lived in the Amazon Jungle. Many of the lived among rivers where canoes made getting around much easier. They also had a source of water by living close to a river, they also had a source of water needed to survive. Many of these people died by the disease that the European explorers and colonist brought when they went there. The others died when they were being enslaved . During this age, there are fewer people living in the amazon then 500. But there are still people living in the Amazon Jungle, just that we do not know who there are.
Because of size, the Amazon rain forest is a vital element of global weather, supplying a significant portion of the world's oxygen through photosynthesis and acting as a major portion in the hydrologic cycle through plant transpiration
